Behavioral interview practice

Practice one story until it takes about a minute: where you were, what you owned, one specific moment, and the result. Do not announce the labels.

Pick one story

Choose a story you actually lived: a disagreement, a production incident, or a time something failed. Put the facts in the assistant notes so the answer cannot invent a company or a number.

Ask “Tell me about a time you disagreed with a teammate.” The answer should be about a minute, not a short outline and not your whole career.

Say it as a story

The shape is context, what you owned, the actions with one specific moment, then the result. Do not say “situation, task, action, result” out loud.

A follow-up such as “What was the result?” continues that same story. It should not switch to a different project.

Rehearse without the screen

Hear the answer once. Then close it and tell the story again from memory. If you need the screen for the ending, the story is still too long.

Keep two stories ready: one about conflict or failure, and one about something you shipped. Practice each until the result comes out in one sentence.
